Commercial security gates, built in Austin
Most integrators install a gate someone else welded. We fabricate it, automate it, and tie it into the access control and cameras as one system. Sliding, swinging, and vertical lift, across Austin and Central Texas.
What we build
- Custom fabrication. Sliding, swinging, or vertical lift, built to spec.
- Automated operators. Motorized entry integrated with your security setup.
- Welding and reinforcement. Built to resist heavy use and weather.
- Perimeter integration. Gates, cameras, and access control as one system.
Why fabrication in-house matters
The usual arrangement splits one entry across three companies. Ours does not.
One crew owns the whole opening
A gated entry is steel, a motor, a credential reader, safety devices, and a camera covering the approach. Split across a fence contractor, an electrician, and a security vendor, the seams are where it fails and where nobody owns the fix. We fabricate the steel and install the electronics, so the commissioning conversation happens inside one company.
Built for the site, not the catalogue
Span, slope, wind load, duty cycle, and how traffic actually queues all change what the gate should be. Fabricating to spec means the answer is not limited to what a distributor stocks.
Integrated, not adjacent
The gate reads the same credentials as your doors, reports to the same platform, and is covered by the same video. No second system for the facilities team to learn and no separate vendor to call when a badge works at the door but not the gate.
Serviceable on purpose
Gates take more physical abuse than anything else on a site. We build for the repair that will eventually happen: accessible operators, replaceable components, and documented wiring.
Common questions
Does AK Technologies build the gate or only install it?
We fabricate it. Sliding, swinging, and vertical lift gates are built to your specification, including welding and reinforcement for heavy use and weather. That is unusual for a security integrator: most subcontract the steel to a fence company and coordinate around them.
Can a new gate work with the access control we already have?
Yes. The gate, its operator, the credential reader, and the cameras covering the approach are designed as one system rather than four. Because we install the access control too, the gate is commissioned against the platform you already run instead of being handed over as a separate trade.
Do you service and repair existing commercial gates?
Yes. Operator replacement, welding repair, safety loop and sensor faults, and integration work on gates we did not originally build are routine. Gates take more physical abuse than any other system on a site, so service is ongoing work rather than an exception.
Which gate operators does AK Technologies install?
LiftMaster is the primary operator line, alongside the perimeter platforms on our partner list. Operator choice follows gate weight, duty cycle, and how the entry is credentialed rather than a single default.
Where we work
Austin, Round Rock, Cedar Park, Georgetown, Pflugerville, San Marcos, and commercial sites across Central Texas. Common settings include utilities, transportation and fleet yards, data centers, manufacturing, municipal facilities, and school district campuses.
